ABAA has developed standard industry specifications for the evaluation of a material as an air barrier material.  The standard material specification also includes requirements for determining the water vapor transmission properties of the material.  Where the material can also perform as a water resistive barrier and as a heat barrier, requirements for testing are included.  Materials that can provide more than the air barrier function are specifically identified.
